In yet another remarkable year, PortAventura World employees were involved in several projects as part of the 2015 Teaming programme.

In the end the two beneficiary organisations were named as AFANOC and the Alianza de Familias VHL (VHL Spanish Family Alliance).

For the first time ever, the symbolic handover of the donation took place at the Employee Welcome Forum, which is held every year just before the opening of the resort. This unprecedented move enabled the organisations to personally thank employees, the true heroes of this charity initiative.

AFANOC, (Children’s Cancer Association), is made up of the parents, friends and relatives of children affected by this disease and seeks to find solutions to all manner of issues surrounding childhood cancers. The prolonged length and gruelling nature of treatments leave families facing many different problems. From the time of diagnosis there is a period of uncertainty and concerns that can only be overcome with solidarity, understanding and support from society as a whole.

The main aim of the Alianza de Familias VHL is to provide individuals and their families with more confidence in the future. With early diagnosis and treatment, today there is more hope than ever before for families affected by von Hippel-Lindau disease.
