The 8th edition of the Charity Dinner of the Fundació PortAventura is focused on the fight against childhood cancer
The total amount collected of this new edition (€ 90,145) will be used to support the projects of three organizations focused on the fight against cancer, especially in the field of children.
With more than 1.200 guests, this meeting is consolidated as one of the most important solidarity events in the Tarragona area.
For the eighth consecutive year, the PortAventura Foundation held its traditional Charity Dinner last night at the PortAventura Convention Center. The meeting brought together more than 1.200 guests, including individuals, companies, public entities and charities, who enjoyed a dinner full of surprises and a show for a good cause under the slogan 'Unstoppable against cancer'. The collection includes dinner, which in this new edition has reached 90,145 euros, will be used to promote the projects of three solidarity organizations: the Josep Carreras Foundation, the Association Nens Oncolňgics de Catalunya (AFANOC) and the Spanish Association against Cancer (AECC).
With 30 years of experience promoting initiatives to fight against leukemia, the Josep Carreras Foundation will allocate the proceeds obtained to research a treatment for a type of leukemia that affects children in their first year of life.
For its part, the Association Nens Oncolňgics de Catalunya (AFANOC) will use the funds to boost their work in projects that revolve around the needs of families when a child or adolescent is diagnosed with cancer. Its main mission is to ensure that the emotional and educational development of these children and adolescents is the most appropriate taking into account their special circumstances.
Finally, the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) is an entity with 65 years of history that focuses on educating, supporting and accompanying sick people and their families, and also to fund research projects to allow a better diagnosis and cancer treatment. The proceeds from the Solidarity Dinner will be allocated to the 15 projects that the association has currently underway dedicated to childhood cancer.
